About the instructor:
Kara was born and raised on Maui, Hawaii and then moved to Humboldt California for college. She has been working with clay since elementary school art classes. Throughout middle and high school most of her clay experience was with hand building. She loved making detailed organic inspired creations. In college she dove into wheel throwing; she was able to combine her love for details and decoration with functional vessels. Upon moving to Bend she has reentered into the clay world. Her work is inspired by the outdoors; birds, mountains, trees, and flowers often adorn the her vessels. Kara believes that clay is a great avenue for personal expression and hopes to give her students that experience.
